For longer than the Holiday Property Bond has existed, English broadcaster and natural historian Sir David Attenborough has captivated audiences with spectacular locations, diverse wildlife, and unforgettable moments. While his work has taken him to incredible places across the globe, there’s truly no place like home—and for us, that home is the United Kingdom.
As Sir David Attenborough has said:
“In my long lifetime, I have travelled to almost every corner of our planet. I can assure you that in the British Isles, as well as astonishing scenery, there are extraordinary animal dramas and wildlife spectacles to match anything I have seen on my global travels.”
We’re fortunate to have properties in locations that reflect the very spirit of these landscapes—celebrated for their natural beauty and rich wildlife. So, if you’re planning your next adventure, why not follow in his footsteps and explore some of the UK’s most remarkable regions? After a rewarding day outdoors, our properties offer a comfortable and welcoming base to return to and unwind.
Farne Islands – Northumberland
Often highlighted by Sir David Attenborough as one of his favourite wildlife locations in the UK, the Farne Islands sit just off the Northumberland coast and form a striking cluster of volcanic islands.
This remarkable archipelago is internationally renowned for its thriving seabird populations, particularly the seasonal colonies of Atlantic puffins, as well as one of England’s most important grey seal colonies, which can frequently be seen along the rocky shores.
Just a few miles inland, HPB Lucker Hall provides a perfect base for exploring this amazing coastline. From here, you can take boat trips to the islands and experience close encounters with some of the UK’s most iconic wildlife, all set against the dramatic, unspoilt scenery of the Northumberland coast.

The Lake District – Cumbria
The Lake District, located in Cumbria, is the country’s largest National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is celebrated for its dramatic mountain scenery, rolling fells, and more than 16 glacial lakes. This famous landscape has inspired generations of writers, artists and explorers.
Sir David Attenborough has long spoken fondly of the Lake District, describing it as one of his most cherished places in the UK and recalling it as a favourite destination from his youth.
Against this stunning backdrop, the Holiday Property Bond offers three properties in the area—Merlewood, Braithwaite Court, and Ivy House. Each provides a comfortable and well-positioned base for exploring the region, whether you’re drawn to challenging hikes, peaceful lakeside walks, or simply taking in the views.

Skomer Island – Wales
Skomer Island, just off the Pembrokeshire coast, has been described as “exceptional” by Sir David Attenborough, and it is easy to see why. This small but ecologically significant island is a globally important National Nature Reserve, best known for its seabird colonies.
Each year, it becomes home to tens of thousands of Atlantic puffins, alongside vast numbers of Manx shearwaters, making it one of the most important seabird habitats in the world.

Using HPB St Brides Castle as your base—where you can quite uniquely stay in a castle—you are ideally placed to explore this remarkable corner of Wales. From here, you can take a short boat trip to the island, walk dramatic coastal paths, and, if you’re lucky, spot dolphins offshore. It offers a unique blend of wildlife, landscapes, and cultural heritage.
Cairngorms National Park – Scotland
The landscapes of the Scottish Highlands have been described by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the glories of wild Scotland,” and the Cairngorms National Park embodies this perfectly. Sweeping glens, ancient forests, and rugged mountains combine to create a sense of vast, untouched wilderness.
We are fortunate to offer three distinctive properties in Scotland—HPB Tigh Mor, Witch’s Pool, and Coo Palace—each with its own character and charm. Two are located close to the extraordinary Cairngorms, offering easy access to some of Scotland’s most celebrated natural landscapes. Together, they provide a varied experience that combines comfort, individuality, and immersion in Scotland’s wild beauty.

Old Harry Rocks – Dorset
The Dorset coastline is widely regarded as one of the most spectacular in the UK, with the Jurassic Coast recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Among its most iconic landmarks are Old Harry Rocks—dramatic chalk formations near Swanage and Studland, shaped over thousands of years by wind and sea.
Sir David Attenborough has described this coastline as extraordinary and visually striking, reflecting its status as one of the most impressive stretches of coast in the country.
This remarkable landscape is also just a short drive from HPB Langton House, making it an ideal base for exploring coastal paths, viewpoints, and the surrounding countryside.
