Why not splash out this Valentine's Day and treat your special someone to a romantic dinner at a charming little restaurant in the Lake District?

If you're in the area and fancy doing something a little different try out the Pheasant Inn, just 10 minutes away from Braithwaite Court and nicely tucked away close to the banks of Bassenthwaite Lake. The Pheasant is great for all occasions; whether you're in the mood for a cosy drink, a fancy meal or something in between.

There are several areas to choose from, depending on what it is you fancy. Have a drink in the cosy bar, or have a relaxed bite to eat in the bistro instead. The bistro offers the same excellent quality food that you'll find in the main restaurant, but surrounded by a more informal atmosphere and with great views that look out onto the beautiful gardens. There is also a large, comfortable lounge in which you can enjoy an afternoon drink together, or one of The Pheasant's freshly made afternoon teas in front of the log-burning stove.

For the main event, The Fell Restaurant provides you a more formal space for an incredible lunch or evening meal. Really treat yourselves and choose from a well-varied menu of delicious meals that have been prepared from locally sourced ingredients by a head chef who has been at The Pheasant for more than 20 years. A great selection of wines is also available for you to chose the perfect compliment to your meal. So it isn't difficult to really push the boat out!

One thing is for sure: whatever time of day, and whatever you have in mind for your Valentine's celebration, The Pheasant will make sure it's special.

You're in a wonderful location here so make sure to venture out into the gardens and enjoy how they seamlessly merge from neat and manicured, to slightly wild, eventually morphing into the woodland and fells beyond. See if you can spot any wildlife.

Stay at nearby Braithwaite Court and explore the area for yourself. Follow the link to find out how.
