Walk Instructions
Start Point
Go to Lagos on the EN 125 and motor straight past the town along the riverside road. Up the hill at the end and on to a roundabout with a very large black swinging ball as a central sculpture. Turn left here and follow signposts to Porto de Mos, dropping down to a lovely sandy beach and park the car.
Start the walk by climbing to the top of the cliffs going west. Follow the cliff path for about 3kms, stopping to admire the view on the way. The cliff ends at an obelisk trig. Point, from where you can look down on the town of Praia da Luz. Just at/beyond the obelisk there is a steep path down to Praia da Luz, where you can go down to explore the town, before climbing back up. This is probably for another day!!!!
To return to the car park take the foot path between the grove of trees behind the obelisk and turn left to the start of a narrow tarmac road, turn right and follow this behind the Boa Vista Golf Course for about 1km. Turn right at a well defined and fenced track to pass in front of a house and onto cross fields with trees and two or three ruined old properties. Generally bear left along the numerous paths until you reach the cliff top path originally taken. Trace your steps back to where the car was parked and either spend the rest of the day on the beach or have a meal in one of the beach cafés to watch the sun go down.
