Shops and restaurants

Carvoeiro is the nearest village, around three miles away. Here you will find restaurants, shops, a fruit and vegetable market, bars and a discotheque.

The bigger fishing town of Portimao, 15 miles away, has a large hypermarket and shopping centre.

Many fine eateries are within walking distance. On the doorstep, the on-site restaurant of O Farol is good, open 7 days a week.

Nearby Julio's on the other hand, is set back from the main road, and offers comfortable seating both inside and out. The food, a mix of international cuisine and Portuguese specialities, is superb and realistically priced; the service friendly without being obsequious.

There's a private swimming pool (which is covered and heated between October and June, depending on the weather), a children's outside play area, a barbecue and a pétanque court.

  • a restaurant, coffee shop and supermarket
