Things to do in Marmaris, Turkey
Marmaris is arguably one of the top tourist attractions in Turkey. Datca Peninsula
An 80km long peninsula is the area in which Physkos is located; on the south east coast. However, the entire peninsula is considered to be the ultimate place for escapism. No big crowds or loud youngsters with absolutely breath-taking scenery. There's an eclectic selection of things to do on the easy going side with ruins at Knidos to explore, wildlife to watch, secluded beaches to enjoy and plenty of incredible food all local to the peninsula to enjoy. An untouched area of relaxation and natural beauty.
Dolphinarium-Aquapark
For a once in a lifetime experience visit the Dolphinarium and swim with Dolphins! Watch the wonderful Dolphin show they put on and get face to face with these stunning creatures. Under 11s aren't allowed in the water but they can still enjoy a unique and beautiful experience through close interaction with the animals. Touch, stroke and feed while being entertained by their amazing tricks as they show off to you. Be prepared to get wet!
Dancing Fountains
Many people who are regular visitors to Marmaris have never been to see the spectacular dancing fountains. A clever mix of technology, music and art this is definitely another must-see on your itinerary. Relax and watch the display which is especially impressive at night as the fountains move to the music. A very unique experience and one you need to take a camera to.
Lycian Rock Tombs
Located near the sleepy fishing village of Dalyan are the epic and breath-taking rock tombs. Carved from the limestone by the Lycians in the Bronze Age this is definitely a must see on your holiday. Both a source of awe and inspiration these hand carved formations are something to be revelled. There are tours available but you can access the local village to see them yourselves.
Marmaris Beach
The beach at Marmaris is an epicentre of relaxation. Being several miles long there is plenty of places you can find to soak up the sunshine on this absolutely stunning beach which are also suitable for children. During the summer the sea itself is lovely and warm making a dip in the crystal blue waters feel like an exotic bath! There are plenty of restaurants lining the beach all with staff ready to be at your beck and call. Definitely a place to visit during your stay.
