Things to do in Turunç, Turkey
Surrounded by a sea of pine forests Turunç is a nearby village that's not only well worth a visit but also has an interesting collection of things to do. Being on the Aegean coast there's obviously plenty of water based activities for you to experience but if you're in the mood for something more relaxing, we've found some great easy-going things to do in the village of Turunç.
Boat Tours
One of the most loved activities in the area, your trip to Physkos wouldn't be complete without a trip on a boat. Take a stop off in numerous secluded bays for a light swim or snorkel away from the big trip boats. Combine this with fantastic, unique views of the coastline, this really is one of the most relaxing trips you'll ever have. Enjoy a BBQ for lunch on the boat followed by cake in the afternoon before returning to port.
Amos Beach
With crystal clear waters ideal for exploring below the water or simply floating on top, this beach is a stunner. There's plenty to do including absolutely nothing! Take a doze in a lounge chair while watching the world go by and explore the great restaurants on the beach's edge. They'll treat you like family, the food is great and we guarantee you'll be visiting again. The beach is quiet and away from the crowds, accessible by a pleasant boat taxi.
Private Tours
Unlike any other private boat tour you'll experience the crews are professional and take great pride in their beautiful yachts. Clean, tidy and beautifully well-kept with attentive staff. Enjoy drinks all day long with a tidy lunch while relaxing on the deck and enjoying the unique scenes. Some of which you'll only be able to see by boat.
Turunç Market
Held on Mondays the market in Turunç is a must see. Colour is an understatement at this market and it's very popular both for locals and for tourists. Everything from the usual souvenirs to local pine honey to local produce, there's a myriad of goods to view. Either explore the market stalls or get involved in some haggling for goods which the locals also enjoy. Seasonal fruit and vegetables are incredible along with the various spice stalls you'll find too.
Turunç Village
Once you've finished at the market a general walk around the village is also recommended. See the locals living out their lives for a dive into their culture including an interesting mix of animals which they keep. Almond, figs and olive trees are found everywhere providing interesting smells and sights. The flora is also worth viewing with an interesting selection of flowers dotted around the town.
