Walk Instructions

Take the road between into the village (keep the cemetery to your left). Just before the church follow the road on your right hand that goes down and turn left when you are below. Immediately turn left again (Eastwards) and follow this small road, ignoring turns left and right. The Louyre stream is not far away to the right as the road follows the valley side.

1) In a bit more than a km (¾ mile) turn left (to the North) along a wide, stony, rising, track, initially by the right-hand edge of a cultivated field. Ignore a fork to the left and continue to follow the main track, soon rising along the left hand edge of a very large cultivated field. The Berthier farmstead comes into view as the track levels out, with a steep sided valley to the left. Ignore the path to the left and continue along the main buildings of the farm. Go straight on, following the surfaced farm access roadway, rising again. Pass walnut orchards and La Cabane, a prominently sited house to the right, before reaching the surfaced ‘Roman road’.

2) Turn left and continue along the side of the quiet road, passing a junction with the road to Constant.

3) In about 500 m after the Constant junction there is a fence with concrete posts and bars on your left hand. Take the grassy path to the left (southwards) just after that, you now have a meadow on your right. This slowly descending path turns into a track through the woods, ignore smaller tracks left and right and keep the main track (at a fork after 400 m the main track is the one on the right). About 600 m further on, the track joins a small hardtop road. Follow this until you arrive in the hamlet Cavigne. At a T (with a low stone wall in front of you) turn right, and then after the low stone wall around a garden left again, into a path, and carry on slightly downhill. Pass a house, after which the path narrows, now descending between high banks.

4) When you arrive in the valley turn right and rejoin the road used at the start of the walk into the direction of Saint Félix. However, do not go on until the village but take the second path to your right, after about 500m, just after a private entranceway. When the children’s playground of the village comes into view, turn left and go into the village up to the car park.
