La Reserva de Biniorella

Camp de Mar, Majorca

Biniorella to Cala Fornells walking and hiking route

Walk Instructions

Leaving Biniorella turn left downhill on road. At roundabout turn right signposted to Camp de Mar and continue downhill until you come to a left-hand bend, on the corner of which, is a flight of steps leading down to the sea. At the bottom of the steps turn left onto the promenade and follow round until you come to a sundial turnaround. At this point continue along the promenade in front of the Playa Hotel and then take the boardwalk, which finishes, by the La Siesta Restaurant. Here turn left a short distance uphill until you reach the road. Turn right and continue uphill to the next T-junction. Go right here and follow the road until you come to a fork leading uphill. Take this fork and in 30 meters ascend a steep flight of cement steps on your left.

At the top turn right and ignoring a road to the left continue uphill until you can join a stone paved path alongside a stone wall. Within 50 meters you will come to a gate through a stone-faced wall. Cross the wall leaving a well-made stone boundary wall on your left and continue steeply uphill until you shortly meet a crossway of paths at the brow. Here continue straight ahead and begin to descend until shortly you come to a split in the path you may take either route as they converge a little lower down the hill.

Almost at the bottom of the hill as it begins to level out you will come to a cross track, Continue ahead until it shortly meets a broader track. Turning left onto this track follow it slightly uphill until you reach a wooden traffic barrier. Passing around the barrier, continue ahead for about 250 meters to emerge at Cala Fornells with the Hotel Coronado on your right and the Cala Fornells hotel on your left. Your return to Biniorella is by the same route.

However if you choose to continue to Paguera add 30 mins to walking time (1.5km) and leave Cala Fornells by the main access road with the bay on your right. At the first junction continue ahead uphill walking against the traffic flow on a one-way system. Follow this road as it winds between apartments and villas towards the town. A little before reaching the town and on the corner of a left-hand bend a hotel called the Mar I Pins is set just below the road. Here you will find a set of steps with a stainless steel handrail, which will lead you directly down to the beach and promenade. However if you follow the road just a little further you will come to a roundabout and the Casa Pepe supermarket. Turn right at this point to walk down the main street.

This route was last checked and walked in December 2008. However alterations can happen if development or boundary changes occur and there is no guarantee of permanent access. Happy walking.
