The British Food Fortnight is sweeping the UK all this week and next. Coinciding with autumn's harvest festival, the Food Fortnight is a way to celebrate British food and drink, and encourage the consumption of fantastic local produce.

Hundreds of organisations take part across the UK each year, including those from the public sector like schools as well as famous establishments too, such as the BBC, National Trust and St. Pancras station to name just a few. Events, activities, tasters and special occasions will be going on throughout the country up until the 4th October 2015.

Where better to celebrate British Food Fortnight than in the heart of England? Shropshire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands are well served with agricultural land and a have a great range of events in local restaurants, town centres, markets, pubs, hotels and visitor attractions that really promote the produce from this region.

Upper Norton is just over 15 minutes from Ludlow – often referred to as the food capital of Britain – and so provides a fantastic base from which to explore all the various events if you're staying here. Apley Farm Shop is holding its Harvest food festival on the 26th September, there's lots of tasters and entry is free. Also in Ludlow is the Blists Hill Victorian Town Harvest Festival, which is a good one for youngsters and this will be taking place on the 27th.

Take a look at the full list of events throughout the UK on the Love British Food website.
