Tigh Mor Trossachs

Stirlingshire, Scotland

The fact that Tigh Mor Trossachs was, in its earlier incarnation, the former Trossachs Hotel (much admired by erstwhile guests Queen Victoria and, reputedly, the Beatles; though not at the same time) arguably made the construction of the 28 apartments within the main building that little bit easier. A number of the original hotel rooms were of a size, and shape, that could be readily changed into elegant self-catering holiday units. Most of the apartments offer sublime views of beautiful Loch Achray towards Ben Venue, a small (but perfectly formed) mountain that, along with the Loch, epitomises the glory of the Scottish Highlands. The breathtaking surroundings will certainly be calling you and were surely the reason the original hotel was built in this exact location. Almost all apartment properties feature an open plan living area, bedecked in graceful, richly designed furnishings that really welcome you to your Scottish retreat. As well as those in the main building, a further thirty apartments are located in the east wing and in buildings in the surrounding grounds. These are equally inviting with comfortable, quality furnishings and subtle, relaxing decorative touches. Some of Tigh Mor's apartments will suit families or larger groups; but others lend themselves more to couples. And really - if there's a better place for a romantic getaway than the Highlands of Scotland, we've yet to hear of it!

One, two and three-bedroom apartments are on offer and most of them enjoy ideal views out into incredibly tempting and incredibly stunning Scottish landscape. However, we know evenings in can be just as important as days out, and each of the properties has fantastic amenities including televisions and DVD players as well as a well equipped kitchen with all the facilities you need to create home-from-home comfort. Try your hand at some traditional Scottish dishes with the complete range of cooking gear... or simply stick on the kettle and relax with a cuppa! The choice is yours.
