Fundraiser Lunch at Santa Ana

In recent years El Balcón de Santa Ana has been assisting the island of La Gomera by raising money through various projects and events for a Community Support Fund.

In the past they have raised €2,000 following the 2012 forest fire and planted 700 trees in the national park to aid redevelopment.

Having recently learnt of the need for an electrical hoist in the nearby nursing home, the managers of Santa Ana organised a luncheon on Saturday 28th March 2015 in order to help raise the funds needed to buy one. The lunch kicked off at 12.30 to excellent sunny weather and was a big success with the Santa Ana guests. The local jazz band 'Almogrote Jazz band' performed, there was pool fun for children, wine tasting and great food.

As well as the entrance fee, a raffle was organised to help contribute and the winner announced on the 5th April 2015. First prize was an original framed painting by Canadian artist Gail Patriarche.

So far €500 has been raised for the community.
