Christmas in Paris

Twinkling lights and festive cheer adorn any Christmas market, but Paris is particularly special. Otherwise known as marchés de noël, the Christmas markets are a fantastic way to spend a winter break in the city of light and love.

With a fast Eurostar connection it's easier than ever to take a weekend trip to Paris and experience the fantastic atmosphere and great shopping opportunities. Throughout December you can wander through the markets sampling hot wine and delicious French food from the atmospheric wooden chalets.

The main area in Paris, boasting one of the city's best traditional Christmas markets, is the Champs-Elysées Christmas Village. It's one of the largest Christmas events in Paris and the beautiful market is taking place along the famous street up until the 3rd January. There are more than 200 traditional wooden stalls selling a range of goodies from crafts to food to decorations, not to mention an ice rink and a big wheel to enjoy. There will also be stunning New Year's Eve celebrations on the Champs-Elysées on December 31st.

A fantastic market in La Défense is taking place up until the 27th December. With more than 300 stalls, this is a really exciting Christmas event for all ages, and similarly features an outdoor ice rink for you to blow off some steam with the family.

Between the 12th and 23rd December the Christmas market will be appearing at Notre Dame Cathedral. This one is a little smaller, with around 50 traders. You'll be able to find crafts, clothing, accessories etc. There will be entertainment too and visit from Santa Claus himself.

Stay just outside Paris in our stunning property and travel into the city to enjoy the many festive goings-on. Find out how by following the link below...
