Rosedale

From South M1/A1

Take A64 York/Scarborough turn-off. Follow the A64 York-Scarborough signs, bypassing York City itself and on until dual carriageway Malton Bypass. Take left hand turn off A64 signed Malton, Pickering, Helmsley. Turn left at roundabout onto A169 Pickering-Whitby (Eden Camp and Farm on your left). At Pickering roundabout (Forest & Vale Hotel on your left) turn left onto A170 Thirsk, through traffic lights and villages of Middleton (last stop for fuel) and Aislaby. Just out of Aislaby Village turn right signed Wrelton, Cropton, Hartoft, Rosedale.

Follow this road around Wrelton Village and pass by Cropton (New Inn on your left). Go down 1:8 hill and over hump-back bridge in to the 'North York Moors National Park'. Continue with care along this undulating road with its many bends, through Rosedale Abbey Village. Follow signs for Castleton and approximately ¾ mile out of village you will see Bell End Farm on your right. Turn right immediately after sharp right-hand corner then right again onto site itself. Please take care on first turning as this is a blind entrance/exit.

From North A1 (South M1/A1 alternative route)

Take A168 Thirsk turn-off, following signs through and out of Thirsk for A170 Scarborough. Follow the A170 through Helmsley (a very pleasant town for a pit stop if required) and on to Kirkbymoorside (silent 'K' Kirby) at Kirkbymoorside roundabout. Go straight ahead for approximately 3½ miles, then turn left signed Wrelton Village, Cropton, Hartoft, Rosedale. At T-junction turn left (just pass the Buck Inn on your left) and follow this road from * 'Route A' directions.
